The Chemical Engineer: Special student issue and university deliveries

Student members of IChemE had long expressed a desire for print access to The Chemical Engineer — previously available to them in digital form only. The challenge of delivering to individual students, where addresses are frequently out of date, led to a seemingly simple solution: bulk delivery direct to the chemical engineering departments of universities with IChemE-accredited degrees. Following a successful pilot with a small number of institutions, the scheme was rolled out to around 25 universities — putting the magazine physically in front of the next generation of chemical engineers. To support the launch I designed a suite of display materials for university departments: magazine stands, countertop displays and posters, all tied together visually and matched to the cover of a specially themed student issue. The result was a cohesive, professional in-situ presence that gave the magazine genuine impact at the point of display.
